Design and build machines for global partners in the Powertrain Ignition Division of Federal Mogul.Responsibilities vary depending on project, but range from project manager, principal mechanical designer, principal electrical/controls design, or combinations of the above.Skill-sets utilized:Project Management- Project lead on capital projects ($500K-$2M). Perform process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) of the capital projects to identify potential risks and ensure thorough machine/process design. Assist customers in developing equipment equipment capability acceptance criteria to ensure realistic goals and process capabilities. Ensure machines are compliant to customers standard and goverment, i.e. NFPA standards or CE compliance. Mechanical Design- Design components, products, machine assemblies, and generate BOMs for assemblies. Utilize Creo 2.0 for CAD generation and FEA analysis.Electrical Design-Design 480VAC 3PH, 120VAC, and 24VDC systems for machines. Select/size components accordingly for proper machine functionality. Create electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical and 3D electrical component layout and BOM with Creo 2.0.Controls Design- Machine controls/operation architecting and implementation. Create UML diagrams, class structures, and logical flow charts. Utilize AGILE method of software development. Utilize LabVIEW as primary control system to control the machine and all aspects (Vision, Motion, IO, SPC, SQL Server, HMI, SMTP Email). In the past have utilized AB RS Logix 5000 & 500. Ability to create programs and edit/troubleshoot existing programs. Familiar with Ethernet/IP protocol and interfacing PLCs to SCADA network. Statistics- Utilize real-time process control to machines where applicable. Control charts (Xbar and Rbar) are utilized to determine if the processes are in control while running production. Process capability metrics are given, along with Pareto charts of downtime to identify the loss of production.

Implemented personal designs/retrofits to the production floor. Draft and design various components for the manufacturing line.Implement standard work and Kaizen techniques throughout various manufacturing stations.Identify primary downtime causes based off of standardized fault codes and Pareto chartsTroubleshoot problems that occurred on a daily basis with various machines.
