As the supervisor of the SVC, I was responsible for handling the equipment available to students who request videography equipment for their projects. I was tasked with monitoring the state of the equipment and making sure that there is no damage as well as checking out the equipment to students and assuring said equipment is returned and put away correctly. In my position I also handled administrative work for the SVC and work to maintain order in the workplace as well as working closely with customers and other employees to make sure that any situations that arise are handled properly.

As a RA in the freshman Honors College Learning Community, I am the person that students come to as a resource. In my position I am closely working with professional housing staff to handle any incidents that may occur in the residence halls, as well as working with them to integrate learning initiatives into the resident’s transition into college life. Furthermore, I work with the Honors College coordinator to create and promote events and initiatives that residents would benefit from academically and socially.

Within my time at Afrikana Independent Film Festival, I worked closely with the core team to help prepare for the film festival in Fall. I spent a majority of my time working on administrative aspects such as the organization of previous and new content that had been submitted to the festival. I was also asked to carry out responsibilities such as contacting the filmmakers and sending them acceptance or deferral letters which I was asked to help draft and edit. Other tasks included working on development for social media ideas as well as community outreach to help build our ambassador list.

As a CA, it was my job to work closely with housing and stay up to date on its policies to protect the greater Mason community. By enforcing these rules and educating students on the policies in place I helped to limit the potential exposure and spread of the Covid-19 virus in our student population.

As a tele-counselor I was responsible for making calls to prospective students and relaying messages that the Office of Admissions would like to get to the students as well as answering any questions they may have about their futures at George Mason University. In this role I often did a lot of outreach for Mason’s growing community and shared experiences with prospective students on the time I have had as a student with Mason and its programs.
