Footsteps is an alternative provision school for students who are unable to participate in the mainstream education system, so throughout the day the position is to help students process class work, but also to process difficult or unhealthy life events. In the classroom, the role serves as a role model and support person for instructors. This support consists working with students one on one, while also addressing inappropriate behavior. Because Footsteps is a small organization, there is continuous contact with students, as well as various other tasks that arise during the day. The ultimate aim is to provide Footsteps with a curriculum supplement that addresses classroom misbehavior and strategies for addressing deficiencies in the classroom time.
