I believe that the future of computing is not generic software running on general purpose hardware, but efficient software tightly integrated with specialized hardware. I love to find ways to apply technology to make beautiful, fun, and useful things that solve problems and make our lives better.As a patent attorney, I worked across a broad range of engineering disciplines with innovators in the electrical, computer, and mechanical arts. In my patent prosecution practice, I focused primarily in artificial intelligence and machine learning, while also helping inventors obtain patents on MEMS devices, robotic control systems and sensors, aerospace and automotive systems, e-commerce, self-driving cars, 3D printing, and autonomous manufacturing.Outside of the practice of law, I am interested in legal process improvement (LPI) and legal project management (LPM)—in particular, the design and implementation of software systems that facilitate and improve the efficiency of the practice of law.
