Becoming proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) has certainly been a long and challenging process! Formal training, hands-on experience, training others, more experience, etc. I’ve now had over 20 years’ experience in interpreting GD&T, applying GD&T to engineering drawings, and solving GD&T measurement challenges. Over the last 22 years, I’ve had the privilege of working through many GD&T challenges in various industries (including agricultural, med-tech and aerospace). Despite the challenges, I love helping companies move forward in their understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. Though GD&T can be intimidating to learn and apply, there are significant benefits to building GD&T competency. Any company that is involved in bringing a part from design to reality will benefit from a solid understanding and application of GD&T. Seeing and experiencing the challenges of implementing GD&T successfully has led me to dedicate my efforts to helping companies and individuals succeed with GD&T through formal training as well as project-specific consulting. My goal in training and consulting is to take the (sometimes complicated) topic of GD&T and make it as simple as possible. I strive to make sure the theory of GD&T is understood and then to connect it to the “real-world” by applying it to actual parts you work with. I've been certified through ASME as a GD&T Professional at both the Technologist and Senior levels. But, more importantly, the experience working with customers with actual parts seeking to interpret and apply optimal GD&T has given me the knowledge and skills to help others with their GD&T challenges. I love teaching and helping make complex concepts as simple as possible.That's a bit of my background that (by the grace of God) has given me the competence to help others with the wonderful (and frustrating at times) topic of GD&T.
