During my time at Dramatic Publishing, I took on many tasks that utilized my knowledge of graphic design and customer service skills. My main tasks were to give customer support to many different clients that would call our office and I would answer any questions that they had in a timely and professional manner. When I was not answering customers’ questions, I would create vector art for social media, edit photos to use on the new website while was being created and helping with the layout of the catalog. Other tasks given to me, were to help create covers for playbooks while using specific dimensions for the cover and some general guidelines of the designs they were looking for in a cover for the playbooks.

As the Social Media Strategist for Glimmer Chicago, my main job was to post job opportunities on all social media platforms to increase applications for clients. I also assisted and finalized a promotional video for Glimmer Chicago to present to current and potential clients. Other tasks I completed was updating and adding new web pages to the Glimmer Chicago website using Wordpress.

I acquired more experience in handling cash and credit transactions to ensure drawer balance. I also mastered how to communicate with customers to help find a solution to the problem they were having or selling them a product that would be useful to them. Other tasks I completed during my time there, was help sort new product, displayed sale items on end caps, drove to other local grocery stores as part of a new marketing strategy, and assist with inventory of the store.

During my time at The Chronicle, I was the lead for our group of graphic designers to publish a creative layout for the newspaper. I also created my own layouts for articles and created vector images using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop for the forum section. Other tasks given to me were proof and copyedit every layout for consistency to obtain a solid print product, create/distribute flyers and advertising to expand the readership on-campus. Also, I would market print and digital ads by creating a media kit to generate more ad revenue and take photos of events and for online/print articles. By accomplishing those tasks, I helped change the culture of the newsroom and the product we created alongside my coworkers.

As a computer lab assistant, I would assist students with any software issues in a timely and professional manner. I also fixed any minor technical issues that occurred on the computer or printer. If I could not fix the issue, I submitted help tickets to ITS to be fixed by another member on staff.

My main job at Kmart were to unload freight off of the trucks and clear as much stock out of the stockroom onto the salesfloor. While operating the cash register, I handled cash and credit transactions. I would also assist/communicate with customers to help find the product that they were looking for. Other tasks I achieved during my time there, was to display sale items on end caps, and assist with inventory of the store.

As a Print Shop Leader, I lead the lead person for my group of graphic designers to create print products that we sold to customers, trained fellow students in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to complete projects on time and communicated with customers to assure design elements were present in final product.
