Basic and Detailed Design execution of a hybrid single-use / stainless steel monoclonal antibody production facility with a €600MM TIC. Responsible for SPID implementation and was area lead for media/buffer prep and storage as well as process support equipment (autoclaves, parts-washers, FIT stations, etc). Assumed process lead responsibility during detailed design to lead the team of 15+ process engineers, complete resource planning, review change notices, and report on progress through completion of design phase. Upon design completion, I led a team of of process engineers to replicate the manufacturing building's design. Deliverables were replicated and updated as necessary for designing a second manufacturing building with a very condensed schedule compared to designing the first-in-kind.Completion of $2.5MM TIC project to increase production capacity by 57% for a plasma fractionation facility. Provided utility analysis and developed PFDs and IFC P&IDs, followed by construction support during facility's 3 week shutdown.Front end engineering design for a $580MM TIC greenfield biopolymer production facility in Thailand to produce polylactic acid with an integrated lactic acid facility. Process owner for the distillation processing area of the lactic acid facility. Responsible for the development P&IDs and equipment datasheets along with associated calculations that were required.Became a department section manager in 2022.

During this summer internship I spent time working on upgrades to several internal company tools, including a pump hydraulics calculation tool. I spent time creating mass and energy balances for a client and sizing vent filters for a tank farm, as well as lending a hand on other various projects. I was able to visit numerous manufacturing sites across several industries and was able to see what day-to-day operations were like across different industries.

I became familiar with and executed numerous PQs and PPQs for the formulation and filling of drug products. I also authored and executed a PQ for a terminal sterilizer. I spent time working with a cross-funtional internal team and client team to author a validation master plan, process control strategy, and PPQ protocol for the client's product. I was then able to begin the execution of the PPQ with the help of the rest of the validation team.

During this co-op rotations, I authored and executed IQs and OQs on several different types of equipment including autoclaves, CIP/SIP systems, and laboratory analytical instruments. I also authored the necessary summary reports for these IOQs, and spent lots of time in clean rooms observing and learning about drug product formulation and filling.
