Recreation SupervisorWequassett Resort And Golf Club Jun 2013 - Sep 2015East Harwich, Massachusetts, UsA Forbes 5 Star property on Cape Cod with many accolades that attracts high profile clientele (US and UK celebrities alike) responsible for the Recreation Attendants, Lifeguards, and Boat Captains. Part of my qualifications includes being certified in First Aid, and as a Lifeguard. I arranged the weekly "dive-in" movie for 50-100 children, ordering poolside snacks, ice creams and beverages. In 2015 my role included in-house training for the lifeguards, ensuring our boat was inspected and certified by the relevant bodies (e.g. US Coast Guard), and recreational related procurement of goods and services. In 2013 I was a Recreation Attendant and welcomed guests to the pool area and arranged seating, towels, food and drinks. I also organized various types of games 3 to 4 times a day for the children, and oversaw the maintenance of the beach area. -
Athletic Union ExecutiveNewcastle University Students' Union Oct 2014 - Jun 2015Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Tyne And Wear, GbAs part of the Athletic Union Executive Committee I work closely with 8 other members of the committee as well as the Athletic Union Officer. Our job as a committee is to oversee the clubs and societies that are affiliated with the University. Issues addressed include but are not limited to deciding if societies can become clubs, managing the club awards process (i.e. most improved club, sports writer of the year, grant allocations, and University sponsorships). -
Social SecretaryNewcastle University Men'S Lacrosse Jun 2014 - Jun 2015As one of the two social secretary's, my job was to organize the weekly “night out” for the Newcastle University Men’s Lacrosse team. We make sure that every Wednesday night there is a route to take through Newcastle City Centre as well as a theme to go along with the said route. Sometimes joint socials were organized with other groups such as the Women's team. We also organized BBQ's, dinners, and other social events as well as charity events to raise funds for local non-profits as well as educate people about lacrosse.

Summer InternGateway Development International Jul 2014 - Aug 2014Gateway Development is an international technology firm focusing on better, faster, greener, and cheaper infrastructure solutions for emerging markets. Working with others, we completed a market study on the use of and opportunity for alternative energy in Liberia, West Africa. This included examining current generation, transmission, and distribution capacity in place as well as the potential of bio-fuels using wood chips from obsolete rubber plantations and palm husks. Although a greener, more sustainable, and technically feasible option, preliminary results did not show commercial viability when compared to fossil fuel powered generators. -
Bar/Floor StaffPitcher & Piano Dec 2012 - Jan 2014Starting in December 2012, I was employed by Pitcher and Piano, an upscale restaurant and bar located on the Quayside near the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I mainly worked in the restaurant as a waiter. One of the best aspects of this establishment is the fact that the servers and bar staff do not wear name tags. This helped enforce our approach which was to work as a seamless team, with everyone responsible for ensuring customers were promptly and professionally served. When the bar was busy, I was often called back behind the bar to assist in making drinks. The restaurant had a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Although I do not see this as a career path, I enjoyed the learning curve, client interaction, and team work. -
Waterski SpecialistTrails End Camp Jun 2012 - Aug 2012Beach Lake, Pa, UsI was part of a four-person waterfront team whose goal was to teach campers from the age of 7 to 17 how to water ski, wake board, wake surf, wake skate, and knee board. I was the designated driver of one of the ski-boats. Our goal was to make sure that campers, many of whom had never skied before, were able to confidently ski, board, and/or surf by the end of summer. In addition to driving the boats, I served as a ski instructor. I am proud to say that by the end of summer, we had 75% of the campers skiing. -
Certified Hunger Event FacilitatorStop Hunger Now Jul 2010 - Jul 2012Raleigh, North Carolina, UsStop Hunger Now (SHN) is a non-profit organization whose mission is both increase people's awareness about global hunger and end world hunger in our lifetime. I was employed by SHN for two years, but helped run meal packaging events in the Washington, DC area for over five years. My job was primarily to facilitate these events, which meant preparing the ingredients and equipment the day before and then mobilizing and setting up on-site for the event itself. At the beginning of each event, I spoke the audience of volunteers for approximately 30 minutes about SHN, the packaging assembly line process, and about where the meals were going and for what purpose. During the event, I helped teach people their roles, answered any questions they had about hunger, SHN, or the process, and managed the loading of the trucks. I personally have been directly involved in the packaging of over 1 million meals sent for disaster relief and primary school feeding programs in Africa, South America, Haiti, and Asia. -
