With over 7 years of experience working with E-commerce brands and crafting Google Ads and PPC campaigns, I consider myself lucky to be in this field of expertise.Looking back at the results of a campaign I threw together 7 years ago, I’ll admit I didn't expect Google Ads to become so important in my professional life.But here I am, and I’m proud to say that my Google Ads strategy has strongly influenced the success of the company I currently work for. We’ve hit some major milestones since I started, including almost tripling annual revenue (7m-20m) and growing into a Public Company on the Stock Exchange.I’ve increased the Conversion Rate of Paid Search by 40% and I’ve been rewarded with a (much) larger budget to spend.None of this growth would have been possible without data.One of the things I love about this job is having data available at your disposal (thanks, Google Analytics), and knowing how to read it. To understand the ways users behave online and then making informed marketing decisions that contribute to the company’s success. Whether it’s discovering a hidden gem of a keyword or finding a successful audience segment to retarget. I find it fascinating.Until now I’ve forgotten to mention the company I work for is an Italian company. Three years ago an opportunity revealed itself in Italy. The opportunity was actually for my wife, but I knew I had to leave my job and join her on this adventure.After landing a job, there were two main things I needed to do to develop into a stronger professional. I had to learn the language and I had to become great in my field of work.Learning a new language is one of the most time consuming, yet most rewarding skills that exists. Spending hundreds of hours listening, reading and speaking Italian has given me a great grasp of the language and allowed me to talk to the locals with confidence and personality.Searching to master a job also requires hard work, dedication and consistency. Thankfully, all this has made me a much better professional than that person 7 years ago. Whilst the learning never stops, I’m enjoying this ride and looking forward to seeing where E-commerce takes me in the future.
