Hi, I’m Jordan, the founder and Executive Director of Visilant, a non-profit dedicated to scaling eye care access globally. Our technology integrates smartphone imaging, telemedicine, and AI to screen, diagnose, and monitor patients for the leading causes of blindness. I earned my MSE in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and MS in Computer Science from Boston University. Now, I’m living my dream of building digital health technologies that break down barriers to healthcare access– especially for women and marginalized communities. I’m passionate about empowering mission-driven women to become social entrepreneurs, and have proudly mentored 12+ start up teams. Product Development Engineer- Deskilling Dalk TransplantationEyedea Medical Jun 2020 - Jun 202112.8 million individuals are affects by corneal blindness, which can be addressed by a DALK cornea transplantation. However, DALK adoption is limited by a high skill requirement and lack of feedback and reproducibility. In collaboration with Eyedea Medical, we designed a mechanical device to standardize and simplify separation of corneal layers in DALK transplantation. We validated the efficacy of the device in 70 human cadaveric corneas. Working with expert social entrepreneurs, we developed a sustainable business model to promote safe and affordable access to DALK transplantation.
