    Aristocrat Technologies Inc (ATI) 2008-presentAs a part-time contractor in video slot development, I have filled in the gaps for several teams which needed advice or development skills on quick notice. I have contributed to game platform software, many test and development aids, UI improvements for both games and operator menus, firmware and drivers for physical reels and related lighting equipment, software build automation, project management during critical test phases for complex games with complex collection of teams around the globe, recruitment of high-value talent, secure boot-time software validation, mathematical analysis and tools, etc. I contributed to the renewal of ATI's stepper product line (physical reels games, such as Alice in Wonderland, Zorro), and to several successful video slot game releases such as the series of Tarzan, Rockin' Olive, and Mission Impossible games, and the Crazy Taxi and Caribbean Treasure multi-player community games. Recently I've worked directly on game development such as Superman The Movie, Christmas Story, and some new stepper models, as well as game analysis and build tool suites.Since Aristocrat's 2014 acquisition of VGT, I have worked several cross-team projects to tie together the Class III (regular casino) and Class II (Indian bingo/slot games) markets and development teams, including tools to translate between the two markets, and for the Washington state video lottery market. Digital Dynamics Inc. 2005, 2009I integrated Digital Dynamics' SAS Engine protocol library into a customer's video slot platform code. Previously I worked on a protocol conversion tool for the then-industry-standard BOB protocol. C#, C++.     Intel Corp. 2011I developed a secure boot-time software validation process, using Intel's Trusted Platform Management (TPM) motherboard circuitry, standard BIOS, by customizing a standard Linux bootloader. PlyoSystems LLC 2008-2011Developed all software and performed systems integration and testing for a new piece of plyometric exercise equipment (the “PneuBounder”). This involved a user interface (controls and live feedback) on a ruggedized touchscreen device mounted on the handlebar (mostly in Lua), as well as the firmware in a platform-base-located circuit based on Microchip PIC, which monitored several sensors in real time (air pressure, acceleration, switches and air-valve controls) while running a physics model to calculate the athlete's power, force, usage, and communicating with the upper UI unit for athelete personalized settings, controls, and live feedback. This equipment is designed to improve athletes' jumping and sprinting abilities, with proper trainer involvement, and was used by the AF hockey team and local athletic clubs and trainers. Taeus International Corp. and IPEnginuity LLC 2007-2009Analyzed intellectual property (patents, etc) for validity and portfolio valuation, and tested devices for infringement, relating to optical storage media, software processes, database architecture, cellphone/radio, gaming machines. Tekvet Technologies, Inc. 2006-2008I wrote most of the firmware for two Microchip PIC-based circuits which transferred livestock health data (temperature) from their source at the radio ear tags to the central database server, for which I also wrote the original server software. Fisher-Price, Inc. 1998-2000I programmed microcontrollers for various musical, blinking toddler toys, including the original talking Rescue Heroes action figures.
