Cytocompatibility cell studies for the Window to the Brain (WttB) project within the University of California, Riverside's (UCR) Center for the Synthesis of Advanced Materials for Biomedical Applications (C-SAMBA) funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF/PIRE). Collaborated with eight labs in Mechanical, Material Science, and Biomedical engineering and the School of Medicine on UCR's PIRE/NSF WttB project to create a skull implant that helps doctors better diagnose problems and provide treatment in the brain.- Developed a plate design and protocol under graduate research advisor direction, which fuled the advancement of cell studies. - Prepared of media, fed cells, and monitored their overall health, growth, and proliferative capacities.- Drove the progression of the project by successfully culturing cells to be used by labs responsible for the cytocompatibility of Yttria-stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) material.
