About Jordan B. Chestnut, Ceps

I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech.I gained experience working in the biomedical device industry during my undergraduate degree. The relative size of the company I worked for has given me the opportunity to have more responsibilities and to work more closely with biomedical devices than a co-op employee would at a larger company.During my time with Remington Medical, I had a significant role in the Quality department for two semesters and then in the Engineering department for my last semester. I learned a lot about both of these important facets of a biomedical device company. I have experience working with molding and tooling as well, and I often performed tasks normally assigned to a process engineer or a test engineer.In my final year at Georgia Tech, I was asked to be a TA for a Biomedical Engineering lab class. After one semester as an assistant TA, I was promoted, and became the first and only undergraduate Head TA in the department and was given my own section of the class.In my last semester at Georgia Tech, I formed Abdo Surgical with three other undergraduates to tackle the problem of closing the abdominal wound created by damage control surgery for trauma-related events. We developed the ECLIPSE device, which we believe will make the closing process faster and easier. The reveal of our device at the Georgia Tech Capstone Expo resulted in our team winning the Best BME Project prize.
