CurrentPeer Mentors are students who act as a form of counsel to their fellow students at Syracuse University. The Peer Mentors contact incoming students via email during the summer before their first semester at Syracuse University and offer help and advice if needed. When the time comes the Peer Mentor helps students transition from a high school setting to a college setting by responding to their questions about Syracuse and Syracuse University in general and gives tips on preparation for their first week of classes and on. The Peer Mentor escorts new students through campus tours and other cohort building activities during Opening Weekend. During Opening Weekend they provide registration advice, they will also assist in this process prior to Spring registration if necessary. They will help their fellow students meet deadlines they may have throughout the year. Occasionally the Peer Mentor will contribute to College social media posts and videos with the intent to share tips and walk-through videos of academic and career advising tools available to students at Syracuse University.
