Sampling and characterization of Pockwock Watershed in collaboration with Halifax Water to track carbon flows (particularly dissolved organic carbon levels) in the watershed. It is the aim of this research to aid decision-makers in how to best combat increasing water treatment costs.- Experience characterizing and delineating several different harvest sites with varying silvicultural prescriptions. - Experience with water sampling and Flowmeters in active stream systems.- Tree measurement, Forest Ecosystem Classification (FEC) & trees of Nova Scotia ID skills.- Conducted a cruise assessment of over four hundred plots through the watershed, completing measurements and characterizing soil and vegetation at each plot.

- Conducted several interviews with individuals from both industry, government, and non-governmental organizations to learn stakeholder perspectives on lost, abandoned, or discarded fishing gear in the Atlantic provinces. - Researched local and national initiatives to combat fishing gear waste including rope material alternatives, rope recycling programs, and tracking technology for lobster traps. - Analyzed municipal, provincial, and national policy that may be applicable to the issue of fishing gear waste and established gaps in existing policy.
