Cultivate Labs builds advanced sensor networks and intelligent software for the agricultural industry. Sensor data is cross-referenced with numerous and ever-growing data sets to provide deep insights to the farmer, allowing them to save water, energy and labor, and produce better crops. As the founder and CEO of Cultivate Labs, I've been responsible for all aspects of the business, but it couldn't have been done without a small, wonderful team of people smarter than me.

Cultivate Inc was my small freelance consulting company. Key projects included -- Small custom BluetoothLE wearable device using BlueGiga BLE113 module. Manufactured first round in China, second round in Aurora, Colorado. Wrote firmware in BGScript and C, as well as some demo apps in iOS / Swift.- Built iOS SDK for Routehappy to allow some very large partners to integrate Routehappy's flight information in their iOS apps.

Kamino wants to answer the question: what am I going to do today? A mobile app with a web counterpart, Kamino allows any user to create walking tours in their city. When you visit a new city, you can use the app to find user-generated walking tours, with that totally local touch. Explore the city like a local!As the VP of Engineering, I was responsible for all aspects of the mobile product development. I wrote most of the code for the iOS product, in Objective-C and then later Swift, but I also managed a small group of mobile developers that assisted in the creation of a wonderful product. I also worked with the management team to identify business opportunities, and we created a white label platform complete with a custom iOS theme & configuration engine and other tools to better manage a white label product.

As a Technical Architect with Roundarch/Isobar, I led development teams while managing client expectations on many different types of projects. A main responsibility was to listen to stakeholders from Fortune 500 and 100 clients and develop technology strategies to help them meet their business goals. I would then oftentimes further develop the technology architecture and put together the teams of technical people who would implement the overall plan. I also got down and dirty in writing code for demos and sales pitches. I also worked with emerging hardware technologies to develop software that would interact with custom hardware devices. As the Android Tech Lead, I led a team of Android developers in the creation of a media- and information-rich Android application. The application includes heavy use of streaming video, high-res images and dynamic content driven by a server-side content management system. The app includes information on all popular shows, movies and sports, including episode synopses, airtime schedules, video/audio clips from the programming, and much more. The timeline for the project was short and aggressive.

"Interactive Charting" Rich Financial Graphing Tool

I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in Microsoft's Artist In Residence program. A UX/UI designer and I built a working simulated step sequencer (electronic music device) and won second place among many other international teams of creative engineers.

I began my professional career at 16, working at Image Action as a software developer. My duties began with PHP, mySQL, and Flash custom website development, and quickly evolved into network and systems management, security consulting, custom hardware design and prototyping, and a plethora of various programming languages, platforms and tools. This is where I learned how to solve unique and challenging problems, and to use the best technology - or NO technology - for the job.

My first business endeavour was to put a FreeBSD Unix web server in a co-located hosting facility and host websites. I learned many valuable skills, from writing Perl scripts for automation and security to troubleshooting networking and routing issues. This is also when I fell headfirst into cryptography and computer/software security in general.
