Me // I did my BS in Human Geography and my MS in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)—I love the stories behind maps and I love that GIS combines the science and analytics of data with the creativity and art of visualization. 🌍🌎🌏My background // During my five years in the Army as a Human Resources Officer, I spent six months in South Carolina, two years in Germany, nine months in Iraq, and two years in Washington; I inactivated my Aviation Support unit, deployed and redeployed my short-range Air Defense Artillery unit to and from Iraq and Afghanistan, and relocated the same unit from Washington to Oklahoma. In 2018, I transitioned from the Active Duty Army to the Army Reserve and began working towards my graduate degree in GIS, building on my undergrad foundation. Upon graduating, I joined Leidos as a geospatial analyst processing electro-optical imagery in their High-Resolution 3D Geospatial Information (HR3DGI)/BuckEye program, and in 2020, I deployed to Djibouti in support of the Army Geospatial Center. Early 2021, I made the jump from defense contracting to a space start-up with Spire, providing support to the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the Federal Civil Agencies. I focused on the pre-sales engineering and post-sales technical support for the downstream global data products and services that Spire provided from their constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Radio Frequency (RF)-sensing nanosatellites.
