I began my career as a young, hungry, ambitious kid just out of high school with the incredible idea of starting my own business. Aruza began as a manifestation of my interpretation of a niche within the market for social media managers just as businesses were turning to the benefits of online marketing. Aruza commenced in 2013 with myself performing as a social media manager, graphic designer & web developer, crafting exciting campaigns for businesses to meet ambitious goals and objectives around Adelaide, SA. Establishing my own business and clientele rapidly presented countless lessons from managing clientele, finance, staff as well as an understanding of risk that comes with decision making. I also became immersed in a wealth of knowledge as I absorbed the information and teachings of business owners and businesses ranging from hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, showrooms, sales & serviced based businesses. Conducting Aruza with a diverse range of clientele reinforced negotiation principles, communication, conflict resolution, persuasion, goal setting, critical thinking, the requirement to work 18 hour days and finally the persistent need to manage and direct stress. Following this I joined General Assembly to cultivate my knowledge base beyond my self taught skills in HTML, CSS & JavaScript. General Assembly provided a plethora of teachers, advice, tools to further my comprehension of various technologies encompassing front end and back end web development. Technologies I have developed include JavaScript, Ruby, Rails, jQuery, Backbone.js, Sinatra, Node.js, React, SASS, Handlebars, SQL, Postgresql, Github, agile methodologies.
