Program Coordinator & Advisor
In this role, I served as an advisor for first-generation college students in the Dorrance Scholarship Program. The ability to pull from my own experiences as an alum of the program and the training I received in the appreciative advising and shared inquiry frameworks helped me in assisting students in realizing their full potential. I hosted individual meetings, group meetings, cultural events, and volunteer opportunities throughout the academic year to help students learn and thrive on campus. In addition, I planned and supported various summer programs around the transition from high school to college and the humanities.
Senior Specialist, Office Operations
Promoted to Senior Specialist to support our Team Lead and growing needs as a team. Due to coverage needs, I often balanced the needs of multiple buildings during the week and sometimes within the same day. I assisted in HQ relocations and openings, as well as headed a project to clean out and return employee belongings. My refined organizational skills were crucial to these projects being completed successfully and on time.
Specialist, Office Operations
Oversaw typical office management duties including managing the flow of the reception space, directing guests, vendors, and employees, answering calls, accepting and sorting mail, and maintaining inventory levels of all office supplies. I also joined the HQ’s event planning committee allowing me to plan, promote, and execute fun, morale-boosting events at all 6 of our HQs sites in Tempe.
Retail Development Specialist - Walmart & Sam’S Club Lead
Promoted to take over 116 new accounts in AR, MO, and OK managing an increased objective of over 400,000+ units and handling the largest retail account at Goodyear: Walmart & Sam’s Club. This role offered me the opportunity to regularly collaborate with account managers to communicate effectively to our internal sell-out team via emails and monthly newsletters distributed nationally and other unique growth, as well as work directly with the customers on unique training opportunities, including: - Created training content and logistics for a week-long Walmart and Sam’s Club training of 13 new Goodyear associates. Additionally, I later hosted two of the associates for week-long job shadows.- Supported our week-long Sam’s Club training program out of San Angelo, Texas in June and September 2019 (75 associates total). - Recorded a product and sales training video with Sam’s Club Corporate team that was broadcast nationally to drive sales during a promotional period.Participated in recruitment efforts at Northern Arizona University Career Fairs in October 2018 and 2019.
Retail Development Specialist
In my first sales role, I managed and developed an account list of 140 accounts between North and South Carolina, including 8 different channels with varying needs. I supported my customers through customized trainings intended to drive premium sales, tabling intended to increase awareness among end users, and analyzing CRM data to help identify unmet markets. Training sessions ranged anywhere from 1 to 200 attendees depending on the customer and event.
Consumer Sales Squad
The purpose of this training program is to introduce new associates to different facets of the automotive industry and share best practices in sales. I learned through a mix of classroom and hands-on experience including Tire Boot Camp, sales experience in Just Tires stores throughout Chicago, plant tours, multiple job shadows, and Original Equipment Manufacturers proving grounds. Through this program, I was able to practice and hone my public speaking which was apparent during my final presentation to 30+ individuals on The 5 Step Sales Process and Overcoming Customer Objections.
Intern Supervisor/Marketing Intern
In addition to day-to-day office operations, I created and managed social media campaigns with a reach of over 5,000 students, communicated current job openings and events through student and faculty newsletters, and nurtured 75+ company partnerships. The Intern Supervisor role was created to recognize my achievements and hard work. In this role, I created student schedules, delegated tasks, oversaw all new hire training, and developed training and operation manuals still in place today. By the end of my role, I planned and coordinated 5 career fairs, including the “Career Week” leading up to each event, with 100+ companies and 700+ students in attendance each semester. Some of my most memorable moments in this role include training 5 new student interns, creating weekly “Stall Wall” newsletters, and designing and implementing a new fair theme and brand for the office in my final semester.
Program Mentor
In the summer of 2017, I served as a Program Mentor supporting 31 Dorrance scholars through their Entrepreneurship Experience. Through individual and group meetings, I provided critical, substantive feedback on oral and written presentations in regard to presentation, content, and deadlines mindful of the goals of the course. I noted and reported participants' progress, struggles, and success to Program Staff and Dorrance Faculty, asking for help when needed. In addition, I was able to hone my event planning skills by helping staff organize field trips and events.
Marketing & Event Planning Intern
The goal of this internship was to create and maintain a social media presence and assist in event planning and promotion. I was responsible for drafting and revising blogs, newsletters, email blasts and website content to better connect with northern Arizona which included interacting with a variety of stakeholders, including colleagues, donors, volunteers, hospital staff, patients, and board members.
General Merchandising Team Member
The purpose of this position was to collaborate with the GM team on marketing strategy and retail management. I created appealing window displays to advertise merchandise twice a month and performed routine inventory operations each semester.
Peer Facilitator (Fys 121)
During the Spring 2015 semester, I was given the opportunity to mentor 25 students in their transition to college through a Dr. Seuss studies class designed specifically for freshmen. Throughout the semester, I assisted students/faculty in creating course content, program development, study sessions, feedback, resources, and grading class work. As a mentor, I helped students learn skills to better their time management, organization, and self-advocacy. I was FERPA trained and certified through NAU.
