Previously 2nd Officer onboard RRS Ernest Shackleton, a vessel operated by the British Antarctic SurveyMore recently, 2nd Officer onboard RRS James Clark Ross.Experienced in conducting science operations such as Fishing deployments, CTDs, seabed surveys, underwater camera work, trawl net deployments and other scientific ops.Operating in polar regions of the High Arctic (83’N) and around the Antarctic peninsula and Weddel sea including the sub Antarctic Islands.Thousands of hours of ship handling and maneuvering the vessel onto Science Station in a timely, efficient and safe manor including DP operations.In charge of maintenance for all Life Saving Apparatus and Fire Fighting Equipment.Navigation officer keeping all charts and publications up to date, along with passage planning.Watchkeeper for all sea passages in excess of 8 hours a day in difficult environments, along with duty officer responsibilities whilst in port. Maintaining the vessel whilst in dry dock, keeping to deadlines and working with shore support to complete the work required.

Mpv Hirta

2nd Officer onboard MPV Hirta, operating along the East and West coasts of Scotland and in the Northern North Sea.Acted as Assistant Fishing Boat Boarding Officer, responsible for measuring fishing gear and ensuring compliance with fishing laws along with maritime regulations and safety standards.Functioned as Navigator for coastal passages, navigating through intricate Scottish Islands and inlets, while also navigating challenging North Sea conditions.Held primary responsibility for the maintenance and inspection of all Life-Saving Apparatus (LSA) and Fire Fighting Equipment (FFE) onboard.

Sailed as 3rd Officer during 6 months onboard Hospital Ship Africa Mercy (Class 1 Passenger ship) taking on the role of solo watch keeper at sea for all sea passages along with duty officer roles for maintenance periods, such tasks include enclosed space entry and working at height.Involved in creating and following out passage plans in coastal and ocean waters along within pirate and high risk areas sailing from South Africa to Benin and Las Palmas to Cameroon.Other roles included vessels safety officer, maintenance work leader and Life Saving Apparatus officer, such duties include being in charge of drills, lifeboats and rafts along with other checking and maintaining LSA gear onboard.

Third Officer onboard Passenger ship M/V Clipper point, a Ro-Ro/Pax operating in busy shipping lanes from Heysham,UK to Dublin, Ireland.In charge of maintenance for all Fire Fighting Equipment and leading deckwork. Watch keeper for 12 hours a day sailing in a timely and safe manner from port to port.

Multi Role ERRVs, supply and standby for oil and gas platforms in the southern sector of the North Sea, clients include bluechip companies such as Petrofac, Perenco, E-ON, BP, British Gas and Conoco Philips. Duties include vessel handling and manoeuvring, chart updates, navigation, GMDSS checks, stability and cargo work along with safety and vessel maintenance.
