My adult career started out fielding customer service calls in GEICO's call center in San Diego. Within two years of starting there I transitioned off of the phones and into Software testing their internal application used to service their policies. This subtle change in job at GEICO launched me down a trajectory where I changed my major and career choice to Computer Science and Software Development. I worked my way through a few IT jobs eventually becoming a mobile app developer working on the early GEICO App. In 2012, I joined the development team at Infuse and eventually became the manager on that team. In my time at Infuse, my team has built over 500 web and mobile applications ranging from simple training demos to complex software and medical device procedural simulations. Our team at Infuse works hard to build relationships with our clients and their teams to take their ideas and build them into successful tools used for years. My experience moving from a tester, to analyst and eventually a programmer has allowed me to experience professionally all parts of the SDLC. This puts me in an excellent position to quickly evaluate a proposal and turn it into requirements that my team can effectively build and deliver on time and in budget. I love what I do, and despite ChatGPT coming for my job 😜, I hope that I can continue to do it for years to come.
