Won 2nd place in SAE International Competition for designing and manufacturing fuel-efficient vehicle capable of 1100 MPG. Team needed to quickly create parting line surfaces that would follow the curving contours of the fuselage mold; designed parting line surfaces using household materials, saving days of work. Machined and prototyped full-scale foam plug and manufactured carbon fuselage. Designed fuselage manufacturing process from concept to completion, including mold line location, composite layering configuration, and material selection. Managed mold build and release preparation, composite wet layup, assembly, and paint.
