As a Partner at The Moment, I lead with a passion for creating products that meet people’s needs while avoiding harm. I believe that design is change, requiring the same thoughtfulness as large-scale transformation. My focus is on merging product and service design through system thinking to create lasting impact.Over the last decade, I’ve grown from my roots in UX design and digital product management to help organizations in a more holistic way. I’ve collaborated with some of the most exceptional teams on the planet; from scrappy startups to Fortune 100 organizations with thousands of employees around the world.     For the first 4 years Hostile Sheep was completely retained by General Electric, which allowed us to refine our business model, establish core processes, build our team, and complete over 60 distinct projects. As of late 2016, we began taking on new clients and grew from one large client to almost two-dozen smaller clients as of late 2018. I lead every project at Hostile Sheep and we only work on a single project at a time. This allows our team to get a lot done in a short period of time. We specialize in user research and experience design and can get most projects done in a two-week timebox. Most of our clients are repeat customers and range from eCommerce and software as a service customers, to financial services, automotive, and digital agencies.Any project that involves building a digital product, such as an app or website, is in our wheelhouse. We are often engaged early to help define users motivations and needs. We often take on a UX leadership position on the majority of projects we work on; this often involves reviewing and providing feedback throughout the lifecycle of a project. A few select clients: Cancer Care Ontario, Tangerine, Amazon, Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, Mitsubishi, Nike, Charles Schwab,Penn State University, and eBay. We've also completed pro bono projects for the City of Toronto as well as the Toronto District School Board.

    I've been doing all kinds of really awesome stuff for REALLY awesome brands and agencies. I've recently been contracted to work on several product design projects that make use of heavy R&D efforts and deep ethnography. While working with a leading global digital agency, I was able to synthesize over a years-worth of research into actionable wireframes. I've helped clients like GE, Toyota, P&G, Novartis, Mazda & Microsoft develop fully integrated digital & social strategies as well as improve overall user experience within current digital properties.I've also been working with some select agencies to fill their UX needs.     I think I valued being constantly challenged by the team as much as they valued what I brought to the table. I was able to turn a test project into a full site re-design by presenting a usability audit to a client. There was a ton of talent, and huge opportunities with clients while I was there. I got the opportunity to continue to work on Canadian Tire, and also got to work with clients like Mitsubishi, The Drake, Kraft, Wind and a few others.Although I left, Trapeze will always have a special place in my heart.

    I joined Taxi at a weird time in their history; just in time to help get the Telus digital business, but less than a year away from their biggest set of lay-offs ever. I originally joined the team as a digital producer and quickly realized the need to inject UX into the agency, so after a couple months as a producer, I was able to start doing UX on projects.After a few big wins, and a couple of losses, Taxi let me go with about 25 others. A lot of huge talent ended up finding homes elsewhere. I ended up following the Canadian Tire account over to Trapeze, one of the agencies Taxi competed against, and lost, for the role of DAOR.

    W+K had a fantastic process established for producing some of the most creative & innovative work anyone has ever seen. I was able to join the agency as a consultant tasked with developing and adapting their current process and techniques to digitally-enable the agency network.I was able to dive deeply into various types of project management methodologies and organizational structures. I developed various documentation templates and work-shopped with the agency network to create customized solutions to specific organization issues.This was my first experience examining digital projects from the perspective of user-centric-design and human-computer-interaction. I was enabled to conduct substantial research and interviews with industry leaders in order to establish a flexible and innovative methodology and POV on UXD.

Was introduced to methodologies, techniques and processes that I still rely on, and use everyday.I was able to work with some of the smartest, most adaptable people in the industry, many of whom lead their own practices today. The only thing I liked more than my experience with Razorfish (at the time) was the offer I got from W+K.
