As a financial intern at Morgan Stanley over the course of three summers, I got a lot of experience within the realm of financial advisors. Along with shadowing them during their wholesaler meetings and seeing how they interact with each other, I had the opportunity to go to lunch with various advisors one-on-one to see how each of them think and how they differ from each other. Not only just advisors, but I was able to have one-on-one conversations with different people in the office including the compliance risk officer and the branch service manager about their position. Being an executive board and judicial board member of my fraternity has also helped to strengthen my work ethic. Because of my position as chaplain, I was in charge of upholding brotherhood in the chapter while at the same time being strict and unbiased during judicial board hearings. This duality forced me to improve my communication skills with people, as I was responsible for maintaining the fun of a Greek organization and for helping to create sanctions that may not please everybody.I’m currently an assistant language teacher in Gunma, Japan to broaden my experiences and learn to become comfortable in unfamiliar settings. I am excited to use all the skills that I have a learned and apply them to positions in the future!
