I am a Senior at the University of North Texas looking to graduate in Spring of 2025. I am enrolled in the bachelor’s and master’s program for accounting. I have 11 years of customer service experience, and problem resolution within the restaurant and event industry. Experience in hospitality has taught me to look over the details and given me a lot of leadership experience. Leading teams to be successful in day-to-day operations and events is something I have always loved doing. Each challenge I faced could be completely different from the last, and all were an opportunity to test my knowledge and grow my leadership skills. The care and willingness to create a remarkable memory for others is something I will always cherish as I look to transition to a new work environment.From the restaurant industry there are many skills I will bring over such as, 11 years of Microsoft products experience creating P&L Reports, Sales Analysis, Product Cost Analysis, training tools, use of QuickBooks, and clear communication skills. One area I want to continue to grow is my leadership qualities. I have always found myself to be a natural leader and am always willing to try to be a guide to the common goal. I believe that with the proper training in accounting I can become a great leader for a company.Apart from leadership, I also like to focus on the details. Many times, I found myself doing cost analysis on menu items, and I was always curious about how we can better our total profitability. Curiosity and willingness to learn are soft skills that keep my hard skills growing. My past leaders have brought up my coachability in performance reviews, and this has always been a strong characteristic I pride myself in. I am always willing to learn and always willing to hear others’ ideas.As a senior at UNT, I am seeking opportunities in the field of finance and accounting. I am very interested in a finance leadership development program but also open to other opportunities. I want to grow in this field and work my way into management long-term.
