With more than 20 years of experience and expertise in non-profit management and public health planning, my personal mission is to “extend the capacity of others to do good”. Call it the butterfly effect, or the dragonfly effect, or just imagine waves outwardly expanding from a slight disruption of the water’s surface. I became a leader because of my desire to help others do their best to help the people we served. This mission extends to my classrooms at Mercy College where future providers of health care services add to their understanding of the biological influences on health to include the social determinants of health, especially health equity.
