During these five years, I had the goal to update the structure and organization of a very traditional shipping company into a more dinamic and flexible organization, by keeping the core values of the business culture at Romeu Group. Major business goals during this period were to get the representation of WEC Lines for Romeu Group in different ports of Spain, the agency of VOLVO Ocean Race in Spain in 2008, and the launch and consoliditation of the service from Spain to South Africa as agents of Deutsche Afrika Linien . From this possition, combined with other managing possitions in the Romeu Group, it was launched a project based on different front offices supported by a common back office which reverted in important savings to the company.

The agency was ranked during its existence as one of the best offices of the carrier's network in terms of customer service, commercial activity and financial proccedures. Global Container Agency office in Barcelona was the first company in Spain in its filed to launch by year 2000 a B2B application that allowed the customers to self-invoice , checking invoices, and to print Bills of Lading drafts thru the web. This office was a brand new project developed and created in 1999 as per principal's requirement. Company was integrated into Evergreen Shipping Spain in 2007.

After a training period thru different deparments of the shipping business , I took care of the import department at the beggining of the massive imports from Far East to Europe. Major goals were to create a complete manual for customer service Dpt. To set up a telemarketing deparment to drive the sales action with spaish importers, becoming the shipping line with the highest market penetration in the FOB import market in Spain. And to develop a customers service process to monitor and control the tracking of import shipments for the customers, well before the development of cargo tracking systems thru internet.
