Managed two parliamentary affairs team members, responsibilities included directing all parliamentary strategy; organizing briefings with the Minister; acting as a liaison with departmental counterparts for legislative development; coordinating briefings and meetings with the Deputy Minister and staff; managing internal and external communications; coordinating policy development with MO Policy Analysts; overseeing all responses to Access to Information requests and written parliamentary questions; serving as the Ministerial liaison with MPs on the Human Resources Committee; consulting with the Parliamentary Secretary; and providing rapid response to parliamentary issues as they arose.Selected Accomplishments:- Led the successful navigation of Bill C-50 (Extension of EI benefits for long-tenured workers) and Bill C-56 (EI Special Benefits for the Self-Employed) through minority House of Commons and Liberal-dominated Senate- Provided astute guidance on government responses to all Private Members Bills and Committee Reports- Carefully monitored the execution of Issues Management and QRT activities and co-coordinated activities with the Director of Communications- Liaised with the Parliamentary Secretary and EA on HUMA Committee business
