I strive to be a lifelong learner, share educational experiences to connect and create with others, and participate in projects that contribute to our collective knowledge of the natural world. In pursuit of my goals, I have earned a 3.953 GPA and graduated Summa Cum Laude, was a member of the Honors College, studied abroad in Spain and minored in Spanish, achieved academic recognition on the President's or Dean's list every semester, worked on multiple research projects as an undergraduate student, and earned the Excellence in Biological Sciences Medallion Award for my efforts and dedication to participating in biological research at Rowan University. Exploring nature has been a significant passion throughout my life, and the diversity of flora and fauna has enamored me for as long as I can remember. Whether actively exploring my backyard or a local park in the NJ Pine Barrens or reading about exotic animals in massive encyclopedia books, I was always inspired to photograph and draw what I observed in nature. Fascinated by nature's detailed beauty, in its diversity of shapes, colors, patterns, movement, and evolution, I recorded what I learned through art. I still remember the day I "discovered" and promptly drew a creature that appeared as an amalgamation of a fuzzy honey bee with a shrimp-like body adorned with see-through butterfly wings. I searched for an identification online, found a match in hummingbird moths, and have loved them ever since. This is just one prime example of the joy and thrill I experience discovering nature's delights and treasures. Looking back at these moments of awe, these embers of curiosity for studying nature were fueled further once I learned about several environmental issues in high school, including the looming threats of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity losses. These interests were once more sparked during my college career. After attending several courses related to ecology and environmental science and gaining many research skills in the undergraduate research lab I participated in for three years, I have found a distinct passion for plants, ecology, and species interactions, with interests in conservation and environmental sustainability. Thus, I am pursuing more educational experiences aligned with my interests in working with and learning about plants, and I will attend graduate school for Plant Biology/Ecology.
