About Jordyn Harrison
Jordyn Harrison is a Talent Acquisition Manager at PwC for Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and Vanderbilt University at PwC. They possess expertise in public speaking, microsoft office, team leadership, powerpoint, higher education and 18 more skills. Colleagues describe them as "I had the privilege of working with Jordyn in the summer of 2014. She was responsible for the logistics of our 5 day orientation and welcome week at Cal Lutheran. Jordyn always had a positive attitude and did a great job working, supervising and guiding our student workers through a very stressful and productive program for new students on our campus. Jordyn is detail oriented and a wonderful problem solver. She takes great direction, but also works well independently. I am so honored to have worked with Jordyn, and I know she will be an asset for any institution she works at in the future." and "As the Logistics Intern, Jordyn was assigned to complete duties that were very complex and detail-oriented. For example, Jordyn supervised over 20 student staff members, as well as coordinated their revolving work schedules (i.e. hours and pay- on a strict employment budget) and tasks over the course of a five-day Orientation weekend. Jordyn was also in charge of overseeing the check-in process for over 2,000 students, families, and guests for Orientation. This check-in process was the most successful in over 8 years at Cal Lutheran! Other tasks included the logistics behind a successful Orientation (i.e. room reservations, supplies, event set up and clean up). These tasks really should have been completed by an individual at a Assistant Director full time professional position. However, since Jordyn was assisting our Orientation at a small liberal arts college, Jordyn was able to gain this valuable experience during her graduate school work. Also, as Jordyn's supervisor, I often leaned on her for support and a listening ear. She was great to bounce ideas off of, and she gave honest and critical feedback. She faced every challenge with determination and commitment. She was one of the first staff members to arrive and the last to leave. Overall, Jordyn was a phenomenal member of our Orientation team! We were so lucky to have her, and I will continue to value her as a colleague that I can rely on and trust."
Listed skills include Public Speaking, Microsoft Office, Team Leadership, Powerpoint, and 19 others.

Academic Advisor
I coached new students and transfer students through course selection and major/career exploration. I simultaneously managed the academic progress of 148 students, while creating New Student Orientation programming, and reviewing petitions for transfer credit. My ability to quickly build relationships and communicate clearly allowed me to help students achieve their personal goals.
Assistant Program Coordinator
The King Adbullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Foundation Year Program at The University of Texas at Austin is designed to prepare students for the admissions process of US universities and to prepare students for college life in the US. The program provides academic counseling, mentorship, and learning opportunities for pre-college students. In my role as Assistant Program Coordinator, I managed opportunities for learning and fun for 18 program student participants. As a liaison for our program, I partnered with community leaders inside and outside the University to develop opportunities for students. I made the day-to-day operations of the program run smoothly, and facilitated a fun and educational environment for students.
Career Coach Graduate Intern
Career Services in the College of Natural Sciences at UT-Austin, serves over 900 students yearly in over 21 fields of study. In my role as a Career Coach Graduate Intern I provided one-on-one interview training, strategic career consultation, job, and internship search assistance. I helped students build their professional representation in resumes, and cover letters. Additionally, I coordinated over 70 student volunteers at the Spring Career Fair for the College of Natural Sciences. Daily I accomplished my goal of educating students on how to strategically use social media sites for job searching and company research, and helping students set goals for identifying and developing marketable skills for the field in which they will seek employment.
Graduate Assistant
Student Judicial Services is the student conduct office at UT-Austin. In my role as a Graduate Assistant, I was a part-time Student Conduct Administrator, independently adjudicating disciplinary referrals, including: alcohol, illegal drugs, academic dishonesty, and departmental administrative rule violations. I worked on average 25 hours or more per week for two years, while completing my graduate studies. This position required excellent communication and strict confidentiality as I had to explain the conduct process around student disciplinary cases with students, parents, faculty, and staff at the University. I built a positive rapport with students, even though I was responsible for disciplining them. I maintained organized and accurate education records for a case load of 10 or more students per week. Special Project: I collaborated with a colleague in creating a Hazing Prevention Report of 21 peer institutions. I created a survey questionnaire for peer institutions, completed background research, and presented a new hazing prevention program to the Dean of Students.
Logistics Coordinator
California Lutheran University is a small private liberal arts university in Thousand Oaks California. New Student Orientation at the University takes place over 5 days and has 3 simultaneous and separate programs for First Year Students, Transfer Students, and Parents. All first year and transfer students are put into peer advising groups of about 20-25 students, there were over 20 peer advising groups. As students registered for Orientation over the summer I had to manually add them into a database using Datatel and Excel, and place them into their peer advising group. I created the Check-In layout and a universal event layout design key for use by the event coordinators and event services staff members. Over 3 months I communicated and coordinated with numerous external and internal offices for the Orientation programs. One of my favorite aspects of this role was supervising 20 students on the Orientation Staff (O-staff) team. I created their staff training, their tasks, and their schedules for the week of and the week before Orientation.
Program Coordinator
Cru is a faith based campus ministry helping students to encounter Christ, grow in their faith, and share their faith with people in their community. While in this role I worked on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where my primary role was working with men and women in fraternities and sororities. Everyday in campus ministry required flexibility and the ability to make decisions quickly. Sometimes you have a mentoring meeting and no one shows up, or a student shows up with three friends. You’ve always got to have three back-up plans ready. 50% of my position was mentoring regarding their personal and spiritual growth, and training students on leading small group discussion and peer mentoring. In the other 50% I coordinated a weekly meeting for 60-120 students, planned an off campus retreats with a team, and supervised 10 student interns. A unique goal I accomplished in this position was independently building a network of ministry partners for financial support, in which I raised over $27,000. I created and mailed out a monthly newsletter for ministry partners about student programs and events.
