Passionate biomedical researcher with a robust academic background, clinical insights, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and real-world impact, I actively contribute to groundbreaking studies in spine research. As a research fellow at Tokai University School of Medicine, I focus on regenerative opportunities against disc degeneration in collaboration with Dr. Daisuke Sakai. In leadership roles, I've coordinated multidisciplinary teams, played a key role in establishing the ISSLS Social Media Committee, and served as a Scientific Advisory Board member for JOR Spine. My entrepreneurial journey includes contributions to Novumcella Inc. and Regience K.K., where I actively supported the development of innovative cell transplantation products for low back pain.Academically, I've been recognized with the ISSLS Award in Basic Science (2024), ORS Best Poster Awards. My skills extend to HTML, CSS, and Javascript for Web Developers, adding a tech-savvy edge to my profile.

Research FellowTokai University Feb 2017 - PresentIsehara, JapanA researcher at the Orthopaedic Surgery Department of the Tokai University and Tokai Academic Hospital. In the Spine group of Daisuke Sakai M.D. Ph.D. we are working on regenerative opportunities against disc degeneration in a collaborative setting; both academically and with businesses. Research projects: - Assessment and development of cellular therapies for intervertebral disc repair (preclinical and clinical)- Assessment of cellular homing as an alternative to intradiscal cell transplantation for intervertebral disc repair- Extracellular vesicle-based therapies for intervertebral disc repair- Growth factor-mediated MSC differentiation for nucleus pulposus cell differentiation- Identification of intervertebral disc cell master regulator transcription factors- Establishing transcription factor-mediated methodology for nucleus pulposus cell reprogramming- Optimizing culture methods for progenitor cell retention and expansion -
Research InternTokai University Jan 2016 - Jan 2017Kanagawa, JapanA researcher at the Orthopaedic Department of the Tokai University and Tokai Academic Hospital. In the Spine group under the guidance of dr. Daisuke Sakai we are working on regenerative opportunities against disc degeneration in a collaborative setting; both academically and with businesses. Skills mastered at this internship: RT-PCR, iPSC handling, cell culturing and much more to come. -

ResearcherRegience Jan 2016 - Jan 2017JapanResearch fellow, assessing the DiscGenics product in a pre-clinical setting within the Tokai University School of Medicine, Isehara. Mainly involved in cell transplantations, imaging modalities, RT-PCR, and histology. -
Research InternUmc Utrecht Jan 2015 - Dec 2015UtrechtInternship at Orthopaedic research department of the Utrecht Medical Centre, under guidance of A. Krouwels and L. B. Creemers. Here I work in a fulltime setting on optimizing a bioreactor system for culturing nucleus pulposus tissue sections under loaded conditions. Moreover, I take part in other projects that involve cell- and gel culturing. Some practical skills developed from this internship are 3D printing and designing, hydrogels, sterile cell culturing, ELISA, DMMB assay, Pico-green assay, immuno-histochemistry and histology. Moreover, soon I will also explore plasmids, RT-PCR, fluorescent microscopy, LDH assays and transfections. -
Research InternUmc Utrecht Feb 2014 - Dec 2014Utrecht Area, NetherlandsInternship at Cardio- Thorac Surgery department at the Utrecht Medical Centre, under guidance of dr J. Kluin. Here I worked on implementation of bioactivity in in-situ scaffold-mediated heart valve tissue engineering. My main activity was to preform a systematic search on in-situ approaches of bioactive scaffold mediated heart valve tissue engineering as well as explanted sample processing. Practical skills obtained from this internship are systematic publication searches, review writing, histology, immuno-histochemistry, and microtoming. -
Shift SupervisorStarbucks Jun 2013 - Dec 2015Utrecht, Hollandse TorenGrowing quickly from a barista to a shift supervisor, I was responsible for supervising my fellow partners in achieving our daily and long-term targets and goals. Features, such as, teamwork, communication, international understanding, managing and responsibility are some of the skills obtained that will be of great use in a next opportunity. -
Exchange Research InternKyoto University 2012 - 2013Laboratory Of Molecular Developmental BiologyAn exchange internship in the laboratory of professor Kiyokazu Agata, working on neuronal determination by bHLH-genes during planarian regeneration. In short it was my first long-term abroad experience that has not only been a memorable encounter with the Japanese culture but has also allowed me to develop my independence and international understanding. Some practical skills obtained during this internship are gene-data bases searches, gene mapping and scientific writing. -
