I consider myself a person dedicated to his work; good learner, and eager to work in new areas. Here I present a brief summary of my education, likewise work experience I have had.I've a University degree in Translation and Interpretation (English- Spanish), at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala. I'm also Certified legal translator (English- Spanish) and Certified Spanish Teacher (Spanish as second language). I had the opportunity to study for one year in the United States in the state of New Hampshire. Also for 2 years I studied French at the Alliance Francaise. And now I find myself studying Mayan K'iche, at the Language Learning Center (CALUSAC-USAC).Currently, I'm working as freelance translator and Interpreter. I worked in a State institution in the area of marketing and advertising, as a translator of tourist texts . Additionally, I have worked in many NGOs as an Interpreter in several projects with groups from different parts of the US, at various locations in Guatemala. My specialization is in medical interpretation as well as, community interpretation. Overall, I really like the work that involves contact with other people and cultures.Me considero una persona dedicada a su trabajo; buen aprendiz, y con muchos deseos por trabajar en nuevas áreas. Aquí presento un breve resumen sobre mi formación académica, asimismo, la experiencia laboral que he tenido.Soy licenciado en Traducción e Interpretación (Inglés- español) egresado de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. Soy Traductor Jurado (inglés- español, registro No. 32-2019). También, estoy certificado como Profesor de español como segundo idioma. Tuve la oportunidad de estudiar durante un año en Estados Unidos, en el estado de New Hampshire. Además, por 2 años estudié idioma francés, en la Alianza Francesa. Hoy día, me encuentro aprendiendo Maya K'iche´ en CALUSAC-USAC. Actualmente, trabajo como traductor e intérprete autónomo. Incursioné en una institución estatal, en el área de mercadeo, traduciendo textos de turismo. Asimismo, he trabajado en varias ONGs como intérprete en diversos proyectos, con grupos provenientes de distintas partes de Estados Unidos, en diferentes lugares de Guatemala. Principalmente, he trabajado como intérprete médico en jornadas de salud, de la cual versa mayormente mi experiencia, así como, interpretación comunitaria. Tengo pleno interés por el trabajo que involucra la participación intercultural.
