One marked early memory from school was when I froze in front of an English-speaking crowd and couldn’t speak a word, as English is my second distant language. Since then, it has been part of my DNA to work hard to improve and access a better part of myself. Determined to do better, I now speak four languages and have developed an affinity for helping things and people become better while offering empathy and holding people as naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. I have developed a passion for creating spaces for learning, acceptance, and curiosity. I have an affinity for focusing on what’s going right with people while helping people become everything they already are. This is a focus on the professional roles I play, such as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, and Professional Coach. As much as I love helping others, I hate selling myself. So here are seven quick things about me. Quick in and out, and nobody gets hurt. 1) I have extensive Agile experience as Scrum Master and Agile Coach and offer a pragmatic approach to agility. I take pride in my teams becoming more and more capable. 2) I’m a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC Certification pending May 2023). Meaning I can be very coach-like before inserting my agile experience and knowledge into situations. 3) I’m an avid reader. Since the year 2020, I have read [263] books (yes, I’m counting them) on self-growth, agility, psychology, team dynamics, facilitation, self-improvement, etc. I don’t know if they make me smarter, but they make me resourceful. You can count on me to connect dots to what’s out there, to put into practice what I get a hold of, and to keep sharpening my saw. 4) I’m a US Air Force Veteran with eight years of Company Grade Officer/military leadership under my belt. 5) My background in Electrical Engineering (B.S.), Civil Engineering (Military), and Engineering Systems Management (M.S.) allows me to flex into some technical conversations. 6) I’m a recovering Project Manager. I have some lessons imprinted in my brain as I first moved into agile ways of working. You can count on me to connect with those new to agile and politely challenge existing practices and attitudes. 7) I have experience facilitating, teaching, and creating workshops using “Training from the Back of the Room” and “Liberating Structures” tools and techniques. You can count on me to flex and NOT to be the “sage on the stage” and create a more than-usual learning space for everyone to connect and learn.
