Responsible Engineer for Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) Power Systems Architecture circuit design with expanded responsibilities in Battery Management, Energy Storage solutions & Renewable Energy Systems. Strong simulation, component selection, PCB design, cost analysis, electrical characterization, power systems functional specifications and product certification for U.S./International Satellite/Cable markets with expansion into U.S. IoT and Wireless industry.

Responsible Engineer for Set-Top-Box Power Architecture circuit design and simulation, component selection, PCB design, cost analysis, electrical characterization, power systems functional specifications and product certification for US/International Satellite/Cable markets. Design experience include power regulation, discrete components, linear and mixed signal, analog filters, technical analysis, lightning surge, EnergyStar, circuit protection. Specifically, duties include (but are not limited to):• Design for manufacturing of AC-DC switch-mode converters, power levels from 10W to 200W for consumer products.• Design for manufacturing of DC-DC converters.• Design power and control communication for Satellite Receiving Systems• Define test and design validation criteria of new and existing designs based on internal policies and customer requirements for high volume manufacturing of products• Evaluate field failures for design improvements and reliability.• Minimize cost, optimize performance and improve reliability of products.• Research on Power Semiconductor markets for new solutions developments• Knowledge of Power Supply Government & Industry Standards for Consumer products.• Collaboratively and tactically align with Application/Design engineers and Supply Chain to provide the best design approach solutions• Engage with key Power Semiconductors vendors to achieve Customer’s design requirements.• Lead key OEM Power Supply vendors to design Wall or In-line Power Supply Adapters by developing key Customer’s specifications

• Design off-line switch-mode converters, power level from 10W to 200W for consumer products.• Design and develop DC-DC converters.• Design and develop LNB power and DiSEqC communication.• Define test and qualification criteria of designs.• Test and qualify design for mass production of products.• Evaluation of field failures for design improvements and reliability.• Design magnetic components for switching power supply.• Research on new product developments and reliability tests for customers. • Minimize cost, optimize performance and improve reliability of products.

Sustaining Engineer is responsible for supporting the Hardware Design team and maintenance of existing designs.• Maintain and update design products from market introduction until obsolete.• Maintain product configuration requirements, design characterization, determining design change qualification requirements and electrical component qualification, as well as product failure analysis. • Primary focus of position is on Digital Set Top Boxes and support accessories for Dish Network.
