The Video Control Systems Operations Engineer plays a key role in the administration and support of key video control systems within Cox Communications. The position provides tier III support, technical leadership, and technical direction to team members and peers responsible for the administration of Cox video control systems. The position is also responsible for providing advanced video systems administration, incident management, service assurance, maintenance, and fix agent support of Cox video control systems, guide applications and application servers, Switched Digital Video (SDV), IP Video, and Centralized Video Services (CVS).

Provides tier III support, technical leadership, and technical direction to team members and peers responsible for the administration of Cox video systems. The position is also responsible for providing advanced video systems administration, incident management, service assurance, maintenance, and fix agent support of Cox video systems, guide applications and application servers, Switched Digital Video (SDV), IP Video, Centralized Video Services (CVS), and cDVR (Cloud DVR).

Troubleshoots, maintains, and supports a variety of Video Back Office and Video Network systems including hardware, software, transmission and control devices. Ensures the integrity and availability of Digital Cable, Video on Demand, and Interactive television services.· Familiar with Linux system administration and functions as related to various video application delivery models. · Experience with UNIX/Linux and operating environments, managing large number of remote systems using command-line tools, and experience with (ROSA) SNMP, syslog, and performance monitoring.· Strong experience troubleshooting video application technology. · In depth understanding of event monitoring (alerting, diagnostics, solutions). · Experience with configuring and installing hardware, ranging from servers to network equipment. .15 Plus years of experience in the Telecommunications field. DNCS, DAC, Concurrent, Arris, SeaChange and Harmonic.
