About Jorge Aliende

Building bridges that strengthen society is the purpose of my professional career, which started 10 years ago.As Managing Director of APRI, the Spanish Association of Public Affaris Professionals, I lead initiatives that promote collaboration between companies and private organisations and the public sector to build a professional framwork based on ethics and transparency. My entire career is linked to Institutional and International Relations, Public Affairs, Reputation and Business Development. During my time at British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, where I worked as Membership and Business Development Direcctor, I had the opportunity to contribute to the stregthen of ties between commercial and social partners such as the UK and Spain.Before doing so, I has the privilege to work at the University of Navarra (#1Spain), where I faced challenges such as the Deputy Director of the Admissions Department (contributing to reaching record numbers of students), the direction of commercial activity in more than ten countries (opening and consolidating markets in Middle East and Asia) and the launch of the School of Communication in the new postgraduate campus in Madrid (laying the foundations for institutional development in the capital).As an independent consultant, I carry out projects (satkeholders plans and speech writing) in institutions such as the Spanish and European Parliaments. Additionally, through the creation of content on intangibles, I am part of the Intelligence and Analysis team of the Corporate Excellence Foundation, an entity that brings together large multinationals and is dedicated to advancing the management of intangibles.My education as a graduate in History (2013), Journalism (2014) and International Relations (2022) helps me address problems from a rich, deeply creative perspective. As postgraduate degrees, I have completed the Master's Degree in Corporate Reputation from the University of Navarra and Digital Marketing from K-School to reinforce intangible management tools. I have also completed international programs at Boston University (International Marketing) and Kings College London (Strategic Management).I firmly believe in constantly challenging myself and working as a team to take organizations to the next level.

    As Membership and Business Development Manager of the Chamber, I am in charge of:-Commercial management: the British Chamber in Spain is part of the network of UK Chambers abroad and is a private associative entity, so growth in members is key. Since I assumed the role, more than 70 companies from strategic sectors have joined the Chamber. Among these arrivals, some stand out such as Cubico, Haleon, Iberia, NH Hoteles, OHLA or SACYR.-Public and corporate affairs: I develop constant dialogue with companies and institutions in the United Kingdom and Spain, managing access to regulatory bodies and promoting the creation of synergies and the promotion of new collaborations, creating synergies and promoting new collaborations.-Organization of events: the Chamber develops by organizing events aligned with its purpose of promoting bilateral trade. In this sense, we organize meetings with representatives of regional and national governments on sensitive topics for the different sectors represented in the Chamber (finance, Energy, Diversity, Sustainability, etc.).-Government relations: due to the bilateral and commercial nature of the organization, relations with different levels of government in Spain and the United Kingdom are essential. Among the projects that I have promoted, the trip to attract international investment carried out by the president of the Community of Madrid (February 2023) stands out, consisting of visits to institutions and companies such as the LSE and having as its central event a breakfast for investors and media communication at Banco Santander with a hundred participants.-Reputational management: cultivating and caring for intangible value is especially relevant in relational organizations where various interests come together. Therefore, it is my responsibility to manage it by supervising relations with stakeholders, positioning in the media or risk analysis.

    As Development Manager of the postgraduate area of the best Communication faculty in Spain, my responsibilities were:-Institutional relations: design and execution of the stakeholder plan (public and private, national and international) to meet corporate objectives.-Commercial management: execution of the commercial plans of each program, with special attention to its internationalization through corporate trips to Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Puerto Rico, Guatemala and Paraguay that resulted in a 37% increase in internationality.In this stage we managed to consolidate the Master in Management of Communication Companies, launch the Executive Master in Corporate Reputation (the first official master's degree in Europe in the area and which has already accumulated 5 editions) and implement in Madrid the Master in Political and Corporate Communication (program leader for more than a decade).-Communication Management: design and supervision of Communication plans.
