About Jorge A. Torres, Md, Phd

Dr. Torres is a board certified, Harvard trained neurologist, physician scientist, with an emphasis in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology, and advanced biomarker development in neurodegenerative/regenerative (special emphasis on MRI) for clinical trial endpoints. He has leadership experience in clinical development programs from pre-IND to Phase I-IV, experience in small molecule, antibody, siRNA, and gene therapy across various neurologic indications including rare disease indications and key regulatory interactions with the FDA, EMA, and CDE. He completed his neurology residency and has fellowship training in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology in the MGH-BWH-Harvard Medical School programs. He also has neuroscience translational medicine fellowship training via the Biogen-MGH Anne B Young MD PhD fellowship. He completed medical school at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine where he spent 5 years conducting translation research in the disease area of Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and prior to that spent 5 years at UCSF conducting basic and translational research in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and muscle metabolism.
