About Jorge Chapa

As Chief Impact Officer, I ensure GBCA’s strategic priorities, partnerships, and product and services, including Green Star, accelerate the transformation of Australia’s built environment – delivering healthier, more resilient, and positive places for people and nature.I chair WorldGBC’s Global Commitment for Net Zero Carbon Buildings Taskforce. I'm also a member of Climate Bonds Initiative Building Standards working group, the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative’s Technical Advisory Group, and GRESB’s Real Estate Standards Committee. Career highlights include co-authoring ‘A Climate Positive Roadmap’, which set out targets to decarbonise the built environment, and its sister documents addressing precincts, existing buildings, and the role of offsets in the built environment. I also co-authored ‘Building with Nature’, which set out a path to bring nature back into our cities.
