Curious and restless biologist with a great interest in science and nature.💡 I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the CABD (Centro Andaluz de Biología del Desarrollo). I study the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in tissue morphogenesis from a genomic point of view. For this, I use diverse tools: NGS, gene expression analysis, transgenic and mutant generation in zebrafish, imaging and bioinformatic techniques. I have also experience in scientific writing, results presentations in talks and staff training. My work in this position has resulted in the publication of scientific articles in high impact journals, contributions to international conferences and a European patent application (currently under evaluation).📚 As a teacher, I created and designed theoretical and practical content about human genetics for a master´s degree in clinical analysis. This included topics as genetic inheritance, genomics, prenatal diagnosis, causes and development of different diseases, NGS data interpretation and the use of bioinformatic tools and databases🌱 Regarding my previous experience, I completed a PhD degree in Plant Molecular Biology. Here I used anatomical and genomic approaches to study different developmental processes. This work resulted in the publication of 4 scientific papers in high impact journals and several contributions to national and international conferences.I have also worked as a technical specialist in the Functional Genomics Service of the CABD, using diverse molecular biology and genomic tools and working with different animal model organisms: zebrafish, medaka, Xenopus and mice.👤 My experience has led me to develop skills like organization and planning, information and data analysis, problem solving, and being able to manage stress and pressure. I also have good communication skills and I am more than happy to work as a team.I am very interested in R&D within the biotechnology sector, and I would really like to work developing new ideas and products that add value for society and contribute advance science and technology. In my free time I like to get involved in activities that have a positive impact for society. In recent years I have been participating in diverse scientific outreach activities, such as scientific fairs, giving talks or collaborating to manage the social networks of the research center where I work. I am also involved in associations in favor of diversity and the inclusion of people in vulnerable situations ✉️ Contact me on LinkedIn or through email: corsan.jorge@gmail.com
