Jorge J. Gomez-Sanz works as Full Professor in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He holds a degree in software engineering and a PhD (2002). His PhD introduced a new methodology for the development of Multi-Agent systems: INGENIAS. This work applies the experience learned during his participation in the elaboration of MESAGE, another key agent oriented software engineering methodology. He has focused his research in agent orientedsoftware engineering.Since 1998, he has been involved into international projects, but his main concern is with industry with which he keeps an active link (Telefonica I+D, Technosite, Boeing Research and Technology). All these projects have had a strong agent component, and gave the opportunity to apply his knowledge on this subject. He is the main responsible of the INGENIAS Development Kit, an open source development for MAS in active use by the agent research community, specially the iberoamerican one.He is the co-director of the GRASIA research group, which has a strong expertise in social simulation aside of software engineering. He has actively and continuosly contributed to the AOSE workshop, the main meeting place for researchers interested in software engineering and software agents. He has been AOSE co-chair in 2008 and 2009, and acting-chair in 2011 (aiding Danny Weyns and Jörg Müller). He also won the AAMAS-2008 Best Demo Award with a Demo based in INGENIAS. He has worked also for the ProMAS workshop as PC; and co-organized several ProMAS Technical Forum together with Mehdi Dastani. He has co-organized the MAS&S (2009 and 2010). He has acted as reviewer for several international journals (e.g. JAAMAS, JAOSE, ACM ComputerSurveys, Information Software and Technology) and as PC as well (e.g. AAMAS, ICAART, SOSE, EUMAS). He is also associate editor of the IJAOSE journal.His main goal is defining and improving the role of software engineering in the development of Multi-Agent Systems.
