My PhD research was focused in the analysis of fuzzy data from the kernel methods perspective. Kernel methods are state-of-art techniques in machine learning for pattern analysis. However, they ignore the pointwise uncertainty in observations. In this sense, my work enables the analysis of low quality, uncertain and imprecise datasets, as is the case of clinical, subjective and astronomical datasets. Also, I made a theoretical contribution to fuzzy mathematics, with the introduction of positive definite functions on fuzzy sets.
