We are working in the process of fully updating the Commercial/Advertising Photography Curriculum and Educational opportunities on behalf of the Photographers who are members of the PPA. Traditionally the PPA is THE place for Social Photography professionals ( weddings, birthdays, family portraits, events, etc) but there is an expanded interest from many shooters to enter the commercial Photography arena and this is when the PPA is building a solid ground for an effective and profitable access to these markets. New technical skills, plus business savvy ( Copyright, licensing, contracts, etc) are needed in varied levels of complexity, depending on the specific area the photographer / videographer is engaging with, so this is an ongoing process to first establish the solid basic principles and then expand into more advanced levels of training.

During the last many years of his successful career, Advertising/Commercial Photographer Jorge Parra has been working on a series of photographic projects in the USA in Architecture and Interior Design, mostly focused on the Leisure and Luxury markets, capturing Hotels, Spas, Restaurants and Yachts, as well as private residences and vacation villas, plus a few commercial properties, both for direct private clients, architects, interior designers, agencies and magazines.Jorge is well known as a People Photographer, and he has been shooting Advertising, Fashion, Beauty, Portraits, and Lifestyle Photography for a long time. However, a number of Creative Directors as well as Architects and Designers, who recognize and value Jorge’s vision, have been pushing him out of his comfort zone, by inviting him to shoot architectural and interior design projects. The logic behind these requests was the interest of these creatives in exploring different approaches to photographing from a fresh perspective.Jorge has been traveling around the world, shooting some large-scale fantastic Lighting Design Projects for public spaces in distant cities like Ankara in Turkey, Dublin in Ireland, Madrid, Spain as well as locally in the USA, in cities like Miami and Washington DC. Dubai and Italy will be next on the list of projects. Lighting Design Photography is an area where only a few photographers have been successfully involved. Architects and Interior Designers are finally embracing LED technologies for lighting their projects and we hope to see new projects popping out in the market with improved non-traditional lighting.The work includes visuals for Conde Nast Traveler, Luxe Magazine, Hilton Hotels, SLS Hotels, Mandarin Hotels, Ritz Carlton Hotels, different luxury publications and advertisements, plus several travel and luxury commercial and private residential projects, plus the unique lighting design projects.

The Art of the Body is my personal, artistic photography project, an endless work in progress, exploring my vision and creativity.
