I work in the Sahel and West Africa Club at the OECD doing geospatial analysis of African cities, with a focus on urban form, green spaces, climate change, and sustainability.I used to work as a consultant with RiSE Group at EAFIT University, using these tools to help cities and companies to reach their goals. I was also an adjunct professor of the Master of Urban and Environmental Processes at EAFIT University, where I introduce multidisciplinary groups of graduate students to the use of geospatial data and remote sensing imagery for urban analysis. Before, I was at the RiSE Group (www.rise-group.org) of EAFIT University working as a postdoctoral researcher at the PEAK Urban project (www.peak-urban.org). My subproject addressed urban form and sustainability, with a focus on urban green spaces. I've also worked as an environmental consultant doing geomorphology and wetland mapping. Recently, I worked for the Oil and Gas sector as the geomorphology team leader for developing a methodology for wetland mapping in Colombia using geospatial data, remote sensing, and fieldwork; and then I coordinated a multidisciplinary team of 20 professionals to map the Corredor-Montecristo-Yariri wetland complex in the Magdalena Valley and to propose the delimitation of the Main Ecological Structure (an environmental planning tool) of the Puerto Wilches Municipality in Colombia. I studied Geologic Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Medellin city, and I have an M.Sc. degree in Earth Sciences from EAFIT University, and a Ph.D. in Geodesy, Cartography, and GIS from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain).
