Director of IT PMO & Financial reporting for CleanAir Business Unit

Responsible for a Program within the IT portfolio including Infrastructure, Application Development, Security and Business projects with infrastructure components. Managing a set of projects (program), ensuring successful delivery, managing and developing delivery project managers, shape of new projects with infrastructure components and improve processes.

Continuing in the corporate, cumulating the previous role of Project Manager for major Global Projects, during the past year have also initiated the role of Shaping Leader, consisting in the responsibility of designing, together with the architecture teams, defining, & estimating new “Ideas”, building the respective Statement Of Work including Scope definition, Funding & Resource requirements, required for Idea to Project promotion. Within this role, also besides the IT Infrastructure Shaping SOW’s for Business & IT Projects, together with direct management, I’m tracking the department capital budget of new Projects. Continued as well in managing and driving towards success completion, Global IT Projects, such as Corporate IT Asset Management Services implementation, or South America Infrastructure SAP implementation requirements.

Working on a similar function, but with a global role of Global PM being responsible for leading Global IT Projects within the GIOS organization, As PM responsible for the execution of medium-large/complex projects across regions or domains. Key responsibilities include managing project scope, budget, project board, resources, schedule, risks,etc. Utilizing project management methodologies (based on PMI and Prince2) to direct and lead team deliverables. Project deliveries included, but not only, delivery of Infrastructure requirements for Salesforce.com, Radio Frequency Scanning implementations, Corporate CA Service Desk (Helpdesk) implementation and upgrades, Just In Time sequencing applications implementation, Engineering Center facility setup, Office in Chennai (India), Project & Portfolio tool implementation and upgrades as well as Cognos reporting, Test-Press & Production Supervision solutions implementation, EDI communications setups coordination.Worked actively in the design and leaded the Project implementation of Network Access Security with Corporate Internet Access Proxy Global implementation, Corporate VPN Solution for about 3000 users, Wireless Corporate Standard solutions, Wintel Consolidation exercise, South Africa infrastructure standardizations (LAN, Wintel, IP Management, and AD), CorpActive Directory impl. for a scope of 6000 hosts and Global WinPatch Management.Working with Capgemini, managed the infrastructure implementation of the Services of a joined collaboration/outsourcing.Worked with IBM on Business Impact Analysis assessment of 100 defined Business Applications, identifying RTO & RPO’s, and needs for DR. Leaded Audit initiatives requested by external parties for Oracle, IBM and Autodesk. Delivered a Sw License Management compliance for Oracle Dbs project.

Continued in the same company, but taking now an international role, as European Local Area Network Specialist reporting to the EMEA Infrastructure Manager supporting the 3 different business units of the corporate, and simultaneously being responsible for the transition period of a re-organization of the local IT Department in Portugal towards a globalization of the IT Service. As ‘Infrastructure LAN Team’ member I was responsible for replacing Novell Netware throughout all locations in Europe by Windows Domain structure. Simultaneously also the replacement of old cabling and Network components, by Standard structured cabling, and Cisco Network Components. Being the owners of the Local Area Networks and Distributed Server’s HW and OS, we were responsible for migrating, maintaining and operating all the migrated Servers across the 40 locations in Europe and over 3000 users.With an high frequency of travels within the EMEA region, being off-site about 70% of the time, with frequent travels to countries such as, but not limited to Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Uk, Poland, Chezck Republic and South Africa.During this time I was also the daily Project Manager for the Implementation of CA products, CiscoWorks2000 LAN Management Suite used to maintain, operate and monitor all the Local Area Networks components.Design & replacement of obsolete active and passive components, in about 40 different locations with dimensions of 10 -up to- 900 users. Infrastructure Year 2000 validation Project leadership in Iberia. As technology champion of different used product families, have defined and documented European Standards for LAN Equipment’s, and peripherals, Network Interface Cards, and Backup Devices.

Within a Company located in Palmela-Portugal, working on the Automotive Industry, with about 100 employees in Portugal, in 1 location, and about 20.000 employees Globally, present in the 6 continents, I’ve taken the role of management, maintaining and supporting all the infrastructure and wide number of applications, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Being the only member of IT in the company in Portugal I was responsible for bringing up all IT Services, like Networking, eMail, Applications, and JIT Client’s infrastructure. Starting from a point where no IT services were available (no network, no email, no file services)

Carrying out the function as Programmer Analyst / Computer Science Technician in a "Joint-Venture" of two Multinationals of the Automobile Industry, "Johnson Controls" and "Bertrand Faure", placed in the MIS department. It was of my responsibility, together with the MIS Dept. Manager the administration of all the existing systems on the Portuguese Plant, as well as giving support to the "Helpdesk" of 1st level with about 70 users, administering also a Network Novell 4.10, with about 70 clients. Participation as well in the development of several applications using Microsoft tools (Visual Basic, etc). Leaded has well the replacement of Token Ring Network and Ethernet migration.

Carrying out the functions of IT Specialist at Jumbo in Setúbal (Hypermarket Group). I assumed all usual daily procedures of administration / maintenance of the IT systems, Helpdesk service as well as development of office applications (Clipper). Being also responsible for the planning of the daily maintenance (incl. upgrades) of the Back Office Network (Server Running Netware 3.12, Desktop’s on Windows 3.11 and Win95).

At the IT Department. Participating on the day to day IT Operations, and elaboration of a project, which included the build of an application for Administration of Candidates at the Human resources Department. Final evaluation of the Apprenticeship+Project: 19 (0-20).
