• Enhanced fabrication and research efficiency for the College of Architecture that resulted in increased production, reduced operational cost, and reduced material waste by consolidating two production facilities and robotics laboratory as a collective.• Implemented an organization/management system that strengthened lab operations by integrating effective project management procedures/tools, developing an inspiring lab culture, and leading key development meetings which strategically planned organizational objectives with lab directors.

• Successfully developed and tested a Virtual Reality (VR) training prototype created in the Unity Game Engine through the creation of a 35-minute simulation that maximized transferred learning principles by directing a multidisciplinary team.• Improved lab research facilities through the procurement and commissioning of new equipment, including two collaborative robotic arms, 5 end-of-arm tools for the robots, and supplemental equipment by successfully managing a $275,000 grant.• Increased robotics lab operational space through the acquisition of a new 300 sq. ft. room and managed construction by negotiating a multi-departmental agreement where University space is at a premium.• Secured funding to build/lead a multi-department laboratory to enhance interdisciplinary research focused on environmentalconcerns which can benefit from digital fabrication by co-authoring a $128,000 grant.• Augmented the lab’s research capability which resulted in successful robotic projects, software development, and strategic research by recruiting from key disciplines to assemble and lead a group of 5 interdisciplinary employees as the Coordinator of the Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab.• Drove growth in lab engagement by increasing student knowledge and interest by teaching over 100 students fundamental robotic operation and application through applied projects and hosting workshops domestically (in person) and internationally (virtually).

• Developed a certificate recognized by FIU through the creation of a focused 20-hour course with 13 modules cultivating knowledge in robotic anatomy, programming, and application that trained 12 professionals from the AEC industry with my instruction.• Educated a multidisciplinary team of over 30 members ranging from faculty, students, and other consultants (awarded a $1M grant from the National Science Foundation) to gain knowledge of robotic operation and application to use in their research by hosting a series of workshops.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area

Selected as one of six from a University wide search as research fellow position at CREST (Center for Aquatic Chemistry and Environment) for interdisciplinary research to find solutions for low cost water monitoring devices and integrate technology into the Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab (RDF). - Developed the Water Wand, a water monitoring device used to collect data from King Tide inundation events, by creating and leading a team of interdisciplinary professors and students to produce a working prototype of the device. - Produced the Robotics Academy proposal for National Science Foundation with a team of interdisciplinary professors by writing on robotics portion, consulting for AI opportunities, and managing project goals. - Created workshops to teach students and faculty fundamentals of robotic arms by creating presentations with lectures and exercises to familiarize the participants with operations and safety. - Published a paper with several colleagues on situated learning through robotic process on Building Technology Educators' Society conference by documenting the process of teaching students robotics based on projects we previously lead. - Constructed a custom end of arm tool for a KUKA Robotic arm to cut ribbon for RDF lab’s inauguration ceremony by forming and leading a team to create custom 3D printed/metal fabricated mounts for inaugural scissors and programming solenoid actuation of pneumatic system and motions to cut inaugural ribbon.- Increased the RDF lab’s operational capabilities of their equipment by creating proper workflows and training for robotic arms, end effectors, 3D printers, and supplementary equipment.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area

Established the first of its kind robotic laboratory in Florida as a graduate student by managing a $375,000 grant provided by the University’s tech fee while researching, acquiring, and integrating specialty equipment including two industrial robotic arms. - Researched all necessary equipment to create a robotics laboratory focused on advanced digital fabrication by contacting Universities, companies, and vendors domestically and internationally over the course of a year. - Created workshops to teach students and faculty fundamentals of robotic arms by creating presentations with lectures and exercises to familiarize the participants with operations and safety. - Commissioned and integrated two KUKA Robotic arms and multiple end effectors by creating custom safety work cells, mounts, installation of supplementary equipment, and development up initial operational protocols. - Acquired the appropriate lab space in the university by negotiating with the Dean’s office and Facilities management to find a suitable solution to the lab’s equipment requirements while maintaining operational needs for the University. - Managed multiple construction contracts to retrofit the electrical, structural, and operational necessities of the equipment by determining the scope of work, meeting with contractors, negotiating prices, and inspecting work.
