At CCP, I serve as activity manager for a portfolio of USAID-funded risk communication and community engagement activities for zoonotic disease preparedness and public health emergency response in francophone West Africa (Mali, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire and Niger) through the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). I support four in-country teams with technical.

Bamako, Mali

• Ensure strong management including programmatic, budget and consortium management of Project Djomi, a CDC-funded Global Health Security Agenda project focused on strengthening health systems against key epidemic.
• Monitor and empower sub-recipient partners to ensure effective implementation, and use of project resources, as well as quality reporting on activities towards the achievement of objectives
• Support the Chief of Party to ensure strong external representation of CRS in CDC and GHSA networks and coordinating bodies and among implicated government ministries; and facilitate good working relationships with key.
• Produce high-quality and timely reporting and other documentation on the project for the donor and other stakeholders
• Ensure preparation and submission of relevant budget modification requests and continuation applications, including development of annual program/technical narrative, budget and work plan
• Work with CRS/Mali management to develop and continuously refine technical approaches and programmatic strategies, and to explore synergies between Djomi and other CRS health projects

Kigali, Rwanda

• Provided support to program management unit, particularly in the country’s nutrition/health portfolio, in: project planning and startup for a new USAID nutrition project; donor reporting and documentation; MEAL.
• Developed successful concept note for integration of Early Childhood Development programming into existing nutrition intervention sites; and for expansion of nutrition advocacy activities for Rwanda’s Scaling Up.
• Developed and implemented a qualitative study to examine the barriers to male engagement in child nutrition in the context of CRS/Rwanda’s three-year EKN Nutrition program

Solenzo, Burkina Faso

• Developed and implemented FARN (Foyer d’Apprentissage et de Réhabilitation Nutritionnelle)/Déviance Positive community-based malnutrition rehabilitation programs, reaching 50+ mothers and their children
• Created training module for FARN and co-trained 25 district health personnel in the model.
• Trained primary- level health personnel, health volunteers and influential community leaders in the preparation of ameliorated porridge flours and enriched sauces using locally available ingredients
• Researched locally available and nutritious ingredients to create districtwide resource of appropriate and accessible weaning foods and disseminated these recipes on district nutrition outreach days
• Conducted household and market studies to identify local nutritional practices and a feasibility study of the local production of enriched porridge flours for income generation. Produced summaries of production process.

Mali

• Designed and implemented MCH education and promotion activities in rural village health center serving 5000 subsistence farmers, including maternal health sensitization campaigns, promotion of oral rehydration therapy.
• Supported strengthening of village malnutrition prevention and community outreach program, including infant and young child growth monitoring, village-to-village screenings, home visits, and referrals
• Collaborated with district hospital staff to develop and implement training workshops for 60 doctors, nurses and midwives in visual inspection for early cervical cancer detection
• Wrote grant through USAID to provide 36 health centers with materials for cervical cancer screenings
• Secured USAID funding to co-develop a training for 16 local traditional birth attendants
• Carried out health needs assessment and baseline survey for a village of 1300 people with health workers

Chicago, IL

• Recruited and trained volunteer counselors for a homeless youth outreach program, including using Idealist and social media; developed and implemented trainings based on national training model and local needs
• Wrote and submitted monthly monitoring reports on Chicago program activities to the national office, including data on services rendered and highlights to be used in the national newsletter
• Led a weekly street-level outreach team, developing connections and supporting homeless, LGBT youth
