On the board, my position is activities coordinator. This means that I assigned 15+ committees at the beginning of the board year and maintain and monitor them during the year. Furthermore, the scheduling of activities and the necessary promotion and recording of venues also falls under my function. In addition to these function-specific tasks, I, together with my board of course, also perform general board tasks that we present at the General Members Meetings.

My job was assisting high school students with their homework and learning tests. In doing so, I had to learn to keep order in a classroom full of busy children and where necessary simplify difficult things in order to get it across properly. Answering a student's question often involved a step-by-step process of identifying the unclear part, feeding it back to the student, giving the necessary explanation and then testing the student through a task. This taught me to communicate more clearly and provide feedback in order to avoid miscommunication and work efficiently.Furthermore, during my time at Lyceo, I also tutored specific subjects. I sat down with certain students over a longer period of time for a particular subject that they were having trouble with. Here I quickly noticed that each student had his or her own preference of explanation or arrangement of the tutoring hour. These students included a student with autism, who needed special help since he could not attend classes at school. Thus, I learned to adapt better to each student in order to be more efficient and achieve better results. For him concentration and long intensive work was difficult, where for others they lacked motivation. Because of this, all my students were very happy with my tutoring and there was an upward trend in their grades. This definitely gave me satisfaction!

At Pekago, I worked on the assembly line processing parts for many different products, from airplane toilets to tractor parts to hospital beds. Although it was very simple work, it was certainly interesting to get an insite into what it is like in a large plastic parts factory.

At John Beerens, my job was to process online purchases through the website. In this they had a huge administrative backlog and extra manpower was needed to solve this soon.
