Currently I'm working as embedded software architect for the Service Provider Video Technology Group (short: SPVTG) of Cisco. Our office is located in Kortrijk (Belgium) and a long time ago the office was part of the Belgian corporation Barco. Basically we are still developing the same line of products since Barco. I have a keen interest in agile software development methodologies and I am a Certified ScrumMaster or CSM.The latest projects I've been working on are (most recent projects listed first):- NextGen video processing board (any-to-any conversion)- Real-time MPEG2 logo insertion- MPEG2 to H.264 real-time transcoder (PIP encoding)- Prototype of an H.264 splicer- MPEG-2 splicer and transrater- NextGen Ethernet switches (10G uplink) for deployment in a VOD networkMy favourite operating systems are:- Linux- OS X- FreeBSDand for all fellow programmers: my favourite editor is vim ;-)Linux is our main development platform and my experience has been targeted towards anything related to linux. This involves shell scripting, kernel driver development, application development, etc. Recently, since the start-up of the transcoder project, I have gained expertise in the development of software for the TI DaVinci DSP platform. My work does not limit itself to pure theoretical and architectural work: I still aid in the development of the products and I support our field engineers as well.
