Synomics is also the place where I develop my own portfolio of activities and generate new ideas in order to convert them into a positive impact.

With Co-Vibes we've created a talent incubator to address frictional unemployment among inexperienced young job seekers. The Young Vibes program offers deep dive personal development and valuable initial work experience to young creative generalists. It benefits both participants and organisations by providing fresh perspectives and impactful outcomes.

Capeton - Shaping business, aligning people - helps organisations to innovate and transform their strategy and organisation. With our approach of 'strategic dialogue' we mobilise the insights and ideas within the organisation, while creating collective consciousness and mutual understanding. Our focus is on organisations taking an active role in the transition towards a sustainable knowledge economy.

As personal staff to the CEO of BASF Antwerp I coordinated the strategic and management dialogues. Besides this I focussed on the development of stakeholder relationships, preparing speeches, presentations & external board meetings. I also initiated and led the development of a company wide strategy map & roadmap for cultural transformation.

From 2010 on I combined the staff function with the leadership of the communication department, which enabled the alignment of all communications of the entire company. I also led the change communication for some strategic transformation projects such as the divestiture of one of the business units.

In this role I was responsible for the raw materials procurement for BASF in Antwerp, Feluy and Heerenveen. This role included leadership of the post merger integration project, in which the procurement activities of acquired sites were integrated in a Benelux HUB. For some product segments I was global or regional lead buyer.

In this role I was responsible for the transformation of the laboratory, including robotisation and automation of routine analyses, informatisation, consolidation and a down-sizing. Make change happen would become a preferable role from then on.

In my first role at BASF I was responsible for information transfer and alignment between global research, development and engineering in an innovation project. I was also assistant plant manager of the polyetherol plant.

During my PhD I worked on the development of new methods for the quantum chemical study of large systems. I was member of the departmental council, mentored students and organised practical courses and workshops. I wrote several scientific publications in international journals, contributed to many conferences and won 2 prizes.
