I co-created PLAYlive Nation and helped build it from a single store operating in Olympia Washington to a chain of almost 50 stores scattered across the United States.I began as a graphics artist for the company in 2011, designing advertisements and printed materials, and quickly took on other roles as the company's needs expanded as it grew. When the company began offering repair services for devices, I lead the creation of that department and acted as the Lead Repair Technician, creating training information and servicing devices and equipment from customers as well as from other stores in the region. I also acted as Web Developer / Server Administrator, developing several apps that our franchisees would use on a daily basis. I also helped in the design and daily operation of the point of sale software created in-house for its stores. And, because I was so familiar with the company, I would also frequently fly out to oversee the launch of new franchise stores that would open, helping setup and install equipment as well as train staff.I can't take all the credit for building PLN, as there was a tight-knit team of passionate people I had the pleasure of working with every step of the way. But I can safely say that I played a significant part in its ability to grow and adapt to challenges along the way. As with many startups, you fill in the roles that you are useful in. Being a tech-enthusiast and video gamer myself, there was no shortage of ways I was useful to the company throughout the decade I was apart of it.In July 2019, PLAYlive Nation was acquired by Simplicity Esports. Later in 2020, I departed from PLN and moved onto a new project with a few of my old business partners. Since then, I have been with Grindless, a software and business-consultation company, helping it grow as we supply our clients with a powerful point-of-sale system and a variety of complimentary services for the businesses that use it.
